Attendance Policy

STATEMENT AND RULES

To have a meaningful year one must maximize the educational opportunities presented. Whether it is time spent in the Beit Midrash, classes, tiyulim, shabbatonim or activities with the children at Beit Hayeled your attendance is critical. Attendance is mandatory and will be monitored. Violation of the attendance policy will have consequences and be noticed on your official transcript.

Students may NOT travel to chutz l'aretz during the school year. If a special occasion arises such as a sibling's wedding or bar/bat mitzvah you MUST obtain permission from the administration. All departure and return dates must be approved.

Pesach vacation is a wonderful time to spend with family and friends in Israel or back in the States. Pesach vacation begins on March 22nd. Classes resume on April 18th. Any additional days missed before or after the school vacation will be counted as unexcused absences.

Your grade at the end of each semester is determined by a combination of factors: attendance, participation and assessment.

Excused absences:

  1. If you are sick- as determined by a madricha, administrator, or doctor- you have an excused absence from all the classes you miss. All medical appointments must be approved by the administration.
  2. If your relatives come to visit, you may ONLY miss up to 3 days TOTAL if approved by the administration.

Extra volunteering with the Beit Hayeled mishpachot must be done in your own free time and is NOT an excused absence.
