Mrs. Ilana Gottlieb

Director

A natural and highly regarded educator, Mrs. Gottlieb has served as director of Midreshet AMIT since 2009. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, Mrs. Gottlieb’s open-door policy and engaging personality enables her to develop close personal relationships with each of the students at AMIT. Mrs. Gottlieb earned a BA in Education summa cum laude from Stern College, as well as a Masters degree in Education and Administration from Azrieli Graduate School, where she was co-valedictorian. With her special combination of personal warmth and professional excellence, Mrs. Gottlieb is an inspiring leader and ideal role model for our students.

Rabbi Daniel Goldstein has been a faculty member at Midreshet AMIT since we opened our doors in 2007. Prior to making aliyah, Rabbi Goldstein served as the rabbi of Kingsway Jewish Center in Brooklyn, NY. Rabbi Goldstein received his BA from Yeshiva College, Semicha from RIETS, and an MA in History from Brooklyn College. Rabbi Goldstein’s office door is always open for students to meet about their academic schedule, halacha questions, personal religious growth and so much more. With his wise academic guidance and genuine care for each individual, Rabbi Goldstein ensures that every student maximizes the opportunities available for her at AMIT.

Assistant Director

Mrs. Barbara Vidomlanski’s round-the-clock guidance and good humor ensure that our students are happy and cared for 24/7. With innovative Shabbatonim, tiyulim, and chesed programs, Barbara – as she’s known at AMIT – adds fun, exciting, and inspiring out-of-the-classroom components to the AMIT experience. Her warmth and dynamic personality have endeared her to the entire AMIT family both while they are students in Israel and for years to come. Barbara earned her degree in education from Stern College and in addition to the various formal and informal educational positions she has held, she has spent many summers on staff at Camp Moshava.

Mrs. Pesha Fischer

Mrs. Pesha Fischer

Senior Teacher and Experiential Education Coordinator

Mrs. Fischer has been teaching seminary students since her aliya in 2000. Prior to her aliya, she was the Campus Torah
Educator at the University of Maryland and the Judaic Studies Coordinator and Yavneh Academy in Dallas. Her expansive
Torah knowledge and creative educational methods make her classes a real favorite among the students. Her excitement for
teaching students how to learn inspires them to push themselves to achieve greatness in the AMIT Beit Midrash and beyond.

Mrs. Bina Golding

Mrs. Bina Golding

Beit Hayeled and Volunteer Coordinator

Bina earned a degree in Education at Kiryat Ono College. She has many years of experience working with Shana B’Aretz students. As Beit Hayeled and Volunteer Coordinator at AMIT, Bina oversees all aspects of the volunteer experience, both within Beit Hayeled and in a variety of meaningful places all throughout Yerushalayim. Her goal is to maximize the opportunities each student has to give of herself through Chesed. Bina’s integration of professionalism and warmth make her a beloved member of our staff and close friend and a role model to our students.

Rav Amos Azizoff

Rav Amos Azizoff

Rabbi Amos Azizoff born in the United Kingdom and studied at Hasmonean, Gateshead Yeshiva Gedola, Bobov Yeshiva and Yeshivat Mir. He gained Semicha from Dayan Lopian ZT"L and later from Beis Din Rabanei Chabad. He taught at Immanuel College for four years following which he joined Borehamwood and Elstree United Synagogue as Assistant Rabbi. Rav Amos returned to Israel in August 2018 together with his wife and family. He lives today in Shechunat Hamishkafayim and is the Chabad Shliach to the neighborhood. As well as teaching at Midreshet Amit he runs his Chabad House and Youth Center.  He is very well known for his understanding of many different sectors of Judaism, love for Hashem and electrifying chasidic vibes.

Rav Eytan Goldstein received semicha from Rav Zalman Nechmia Goldberg.

After spending his childhood in Long Beach NY, he moved to  Eretz Yisroel and since then has been learning and teaching in various Yeshivot. Rav Eytan is currently living in Yerushalyim with his wife Shira.

Mrs. Malka Hubscher

Mrs. Malka Hubscher has been teaching in Seminaries and Women’s learning programs since 2000. Malka, as her students call her, loves to share her passion for Torah and excitement for learning with her students. She strives to relay traditional textual learning while making it practical and relevant  to the modern Jew. Malka spent her year in Israel at Michlalah and earned a BA in Jewish Studies and an MA in Bible at Yeshiva University. Originally from Atlanta, GA, she made Aliya in 1999 and studied in the Scholars Program at Matan. Malka lives in Efrat with husband, Shlomo, and six children.

Mrs. Sepha Kirschblum

Mrs. Sepha Kirschblum

Mrs. Sepha Kirshblum teaches Tanach and Jewish Thought. Sepha, as our students call her, has a genuine love for both her students and Torah, especially Tanach. She tries to create a balance of creativity, fun, humor and kavod Ha-Torah in the classroom to help her students love learning as much as she does. Before making aliyah, Sepha taught Tanach at the Ramaz Upper School, where she was also Senior Grade Advisor, Israel Advisor, and involved in extracurricular programming. Sepha received her BA from Stern College with a Major in Judaic Studies and a Minor in Psychology. She received a dual Masters in both special and regular Education from Hunter College. Sepha lives in Efrat with her family.

Mrs. Rebecca Klein

Mrs. Rebecca Klein

Rebecca Klein has been involved in AMIT for the past four years. She loves engaging with the students whether it is within her role as a rakezet, a teacher or a chavruta. Her warm and open personality allows for students to feel very comfortable to open up about their goals, aspirations and challenges that they encounter throughout the year. She is always accessible for the students in and out of the school building and is constantly looking for ways to educate and inspire. Rebecca earned a degree in Psychology and is completing a Masters in Social Work. Rebecca spends her summers in educational positions at Camp Morasha and Camp Kaylie.

Mrs. Dara Knapel

Mrs. Dara Knapel

Dara has been a Jewish educator both formally and informally for the past 20 years and serves as a well-respected faculty member and Rakezet. Dara enjoyes schmoozing with the students and develops close relationship in order to guide the students in their Torah growth, personal development and plans for their future. Dara has a BA degree in Judaic Studies from Stern College and an Masters Degree in Education and Special Education from Hunter College. Prior to making Aliyah , Dara taught at Hillel Yeshiva High School in Deal New Jersey and she currently lives in Bet Shemesh with her family.

Matthew Lipman

Matthew Lipman teaches the 21st Century Zionism class at Amit. Matthew seeks to help the students to form and articulate their own visions of Zionism. By blending Jewish history, politics, Judaism and Israeli culture Matthew creates a safe forum for discussion and debate that keeps his students engaged and able to better understand the challenges and successes of Zionism in the 21st Century.

Mrs. Teli Esther Mishaan

Teli Esther’s journey is one of an endless search for truth. Her life has been full of adventure and the unveiling of many miracles. Originally from Mexico City, she travelled the world on a backpack, exploring Southeast Asia, Africa and South America through their faiths and cultures, and discovered that the light of God shines where one lets it in. From a young age, she knew her life mission was to help people connect to the highest versions of themselves. Teli Esther studied philosophy in university and ultimately moved to Israel, where she found the truth, Torah. With deep passion and excitement, she is devoted to becoming a channel for God’s light to the world. Teli Esther is a Torah educator and advisor at various seminaries in Jerusalem, as well as a tour guide at Yad Vashem.

Rabbi Rafi Rosenblum

Rabbi Rafi Rosenblum (better known as Rav Rafi) received his BA and Semicha from Yeshiva University, where he also spent four years as a member of the Wexner Kollel Elyon. After completing his time at the Kollel Elyon, Rav Rafi taught at a number of schools, including Bat Torah in Paramus, New Jersey and the Stella K. Abraham High School for Girls in Hewlett, New York. Rav Rafi currently lives in Ramat Beit Shemesh with his wife and five kids who love hosting AMIT students and alumni for shabbatot.

Rav Aaron Rosenberg

Rabbi Aaron Rosenberg is the leading member of the Amit Night Seder program since 2016. His classes range from advanced Gemara to "Life Hacks" and the students enjoy Rav Aaron's balance of Torah scholarship and practical guidance. By day, he works for a marketing agency that primarily serves Jewish non-for-profit clients, including pro-Israel advocacy groups in the battle against antisemitism. Rabbi Aaron received his degree from Queen Mary, University of London, and his Semicha from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg zt'l and lives with his family in Yerushalayim.

Rabbi Ari Ze’ev Schwartz

Rabbi Ari Ze’ev Schwartz

Rabbi Ari Ze’ev Schwartz hails from Sydney, Australia. Rabbi Schwartz studied at the University of New South Wales majoring in music and film and  received his rabbinical ordination at the Shehebar Sephardic Center in Jerusalem under Rabbi Yaakov Peretz. He also studied Talmud and Jewish Philosophy at Herzog Academic College, and is currently writing his Master’s thesis on Rav Kook at Herzog. 

Rabbi Schwartz is the cofounder and dean of the Society of Independent Spirituality, an English-speaking learning center in Jerusalem that combines Jewish spirituality and Zionism, and is the author of “The Spiritual Revolution of Rav Kook: Writings of a Jewish Mystic”. In addition, he teaches the writings of Rav Kook, Rav Shagar, Jewish philosophy, and Tanach at several yeshivot and midrashot in Jerusalem.

Mrs. Gabi Siegel

Mrs. Gabi Siegel

Gabi Siegel graduated from Stern College for Women as a Legacy Heritage Scholar, with a B.A. in Jewish Studies and a concentration in Jewish Education. She has also earned her M.S. in Jewish Education from Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration. Over the past few years, Gabi has worked with children and teenagers in various educational settings, both formally and informally. In her classes, Gabi emphasizes the morals and ethics embedded in Torah and Halacha. Gabi loves learning with and from her Amit students during night seder. Her warm personality and sense of humor help Gabi facilitate meaningful relationships with her students. Gabi and her husband currently live on the Yeshiva University Gruss Kollel campus.

Aviva Sluckis

Aviva Sluckis

Aviva Sluckis, originally from London is a teacher and Rakezet a Amit and has many chavrutot with the students. Aviva is passionate about Jewish Education, in particular helping each individual student find their own personal path of growth and connection to Judaism and strives to help them flourish during their year in Israel and beyond. Aviva values a warm and interactive atmosphere in the classroom and a space where students feel comfortable to learn, discuss and challenge core issues. Aviva has a BSC in Optometry, a diploma from Matan Eshkolot Tanach programme and is completing her masters in Jewish Eduction in Hebrew University.

Rabbi Aharon Wexler

Rabbi Aharon Wexler

Rabbi Dr. Aharon Wexler made Aliyah from New York after high school and studied in Yeshivat HaKotel. After Yeshiva and his service in the IDF, Aharon received a BA in Archeology and then went back to Yeshivat HaKotel for his Rabbinic Ordination. Aharon holds an MA in Jewish History and a Doctorate in Jewish Philosophy. Aharon teaches in many post-high school Yeshiva programs, is a senior executive at a successful Israeli start-up and a Jerusalem Post columnist. For over a decade, Aharon has been teaching popular classes in Jewish thought and history at Amit.
